Many players that play for the principality’s main club have been courted by various clubs across Europe, but Monaco have put an end to transfer talk about their captain Radamel Falcao by penning a new deal.
Falcao had struggled during his time in England, but has been in red hot form ever since returning to Monaco at the start of the season.
The 30 goal, 6 assist man said: “I’m extremely happy to continue the adventure with AS Monaco. After this incredible season, during which I returned to my best form, I had only one desire: to extend the adventure!”
Monaco’s vice president Vadim Vasilyev was also noticably delighted with Falcao’s decision to extend. “I have always felt that he is one of the best strikers in world football and this season he proved that his talent is still intact. It’s very satisfying to keep him on as a goal-scorer and a leader in our team. After this exceptional season, this deal underlines our ambition for the future.”
