EPL Clubs announce Released list

Every single English Premier League club has announced their retained and released lists today. Many top calibre players have been let go by their respective clubs and will try to find new employers in the upcoming months. We will now take a look through these players.


Yaya Sanogo – The forward signed from Auxerre in 2013 and made 20 appearances, between 2013 and 2015, for the Gunners scoring just once. He had unsuccessful loan spells at Crystal Palace, Ajax and Charlton aswell.

Joey Barton – The controversial 34 year old started the season with Rangers but had his contract terminated in November. He rejoined old club Burnley in January and made 18 appearances before being banned for 18 months in April after making over 1200 bets on football matches.

Michael Kightly – Kightly will be released after 4 seasons with the club. In that time he made 88 appearances and scored 5 goals but spent the last 6 months with Burton on loan where he played 12 times.

John Terry – Veteran Centre Back and Chelsea legend will leave the club after 22 years with them. He was appointed as Chelsea captain in 2004 and has held that post ever since. Under him they’ve won 5 EPLs, 4 FA Cups, A Champions League, A Europa League and 3 League Cups. He made the World Xi 5 times and made 78 England appearances. Terry played 717 times for the Blues and scored 67 goals in all competitions, making him one of the highest scoring defenders in England.

Kwesi Appiah – Played 10 matches for Palace and will join Wimbledon at the end of his contract.

Fraizer Campbell – Frazier signed for £1 million back in 2014 and made 50 apps, finding the back of the net 8 times.

Mathieu Flamini – The Frenchman played for the Eagles for just one season and didn’t make much of an impact.

Ezekiel Fryers – Zeki played 14 games in 3 years at Crystal Palace after signing from Spurs. He also spent time on loan at Ipswich and Rotherham

Ryan King-Elliott

Joe Ledley – Welsh Midfielder Ledley signed for Palace in January 2014 from Celtic. He scored 6 times for the club in his 97 matches.

Arouna Kone – £6 million flop Kone was Roberto Martinez’s first signing at the club. He scored a measly 10 goals in 61 games and played just 5 league games this season.

Alex Bruce – He was signed for the Tigers by his Dad in 2012 and was a regular up until 2015. Bruce played twice this season for Wigan on loan after suffering injuries throughout this season. He’s been linked to Aston Villa who his father now manages.

Shaun Maloney – After joining from Chicago Fire he played 37 games, scoring 2 goals in a 2 year stint at Hull.

Alex Manninger – Former Arsenal man Manninger will retire after his contract ends.

Manchester City:

Willy Caballero – The Chelsea target signed for City in 2014 to be backup to Joe Hart. This season he displaced Claudio Bravo after some shocking displays and played 26 times. Overall he played 47 games and 22 in the league.

Jesus Navas – Spanish winger Navas signed for £15 million in 2013 and had a successful time at the club. He scored 8 goals and got 38 assists in Manchester majority of those goals were in 2013-14. This season he’s started just 12 league games and has filled in at Right Back on occasion. He’s linked to ex club Sevilla.

Gael Clichy – Ex-Arsenal player Clichy signed for City in 2011. In his first 2 seasons he was first choice left back but was a rotation option for the next few seasons. Overall he played 192 times for the Citizens and won 2 Premier Leagues.

Bacary Sagna – French full-back Sagna signed from Arsenal in 2014 on a free transfer. He made just 85 appearances for them and was 2nd choice right back throughout his time in Manchester.

Pablo Zabaleta – Zabaleta will join West Ham once his contract ends. In 9 years at the club he played 332 times and scored 11 goals in all competitions. A club legend, he has won 2 PLs, an FA Cup and 2 league cups captaining the side on many occasions.
