Assessing today’s EPL transfer rumours – 03/07

Chalobah is just one of many sensational young English talents emerging from the superb Chelsea academy, and really does have potential to break into the first team in the future, something that has become less common at Chelsea. He needs to continue his development, and he will not develop sitting on the bench at Chelsea, especially with Nemanja Matic, N’golo Kante, and Cesc Fabregas in front of him. A move – even just for a season on loan – would be perfect for him. He has a very high ceiling, but he can’t expand how he plays now if he sits in that blue seat every game can he? Swansea is somewhere he can shine and play regularly, which can only be good for him, and it would provide a real test of if he can play week in week out. Let’s just hope that if this loan move does happen that he doesn’t become one of many former Chelsea players who have fallen after a loan spell or two.

Naby Keita will hold talks with RB Leipzig officials about his future following interest from Premier League club Liverpool. There are reports the Reds are willing to match Leipzig’s £70M valuation of Keita.

Keita would not just be a fantastic signing for Liverpool, but for any of the top clubs in Europe if he can keep his form. That’s the question though. Even after his stellar season, we have to remember that it is only Keita’s first season for Leipzig. Will he be a one season wonder? Is he worth £70 million? The answer to both, in my opinion, is no. Keita went from strength to strength this season, but in no way is he worth £70 million after just one season. Personally, I think he should stay in the Bundesliga for another season at least, remembering that Leipzig also has UCL football, the same as Liverpool. But the offer would be extremely difficult to turn down for both Leipzig and the player himself, so you can understand why he’d leave if a move was to materialise.

*sigh* Do I even need to give you info? This story is becoming more and more boring by the day, just like Pogba’s move, except, this won’t happen. Sorry Arsenal fans, but you need to be a little more realistic with your transfers.

Everton are confident that they can convince out-of-favour Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney to rejoin the Toffees, after leaving the club at age 17, according to TalkSport.

Despite links with the Chinese Super League and the MLS, Everton looks like a more realistic option for Rooney, as he is unlikely to leave England despite all this money likely being thrown at him. Any player should want regular playing time over money, so should Everton decide to make an official bid it is likely we could see Rooney playing for the Merseyside club next year, which is best for him.

That shouldn’t put PSG off realistically, as they are known to be big spenders. But does Coutinho want to join them? Most likely not, if he moves at all he’ll be at Barca most likely. If PSG are to bid I’m sure we’ll see a bid from Barca as well, and in fact, I don’t think we’ll see a bid at all following this

£88 million supposedly.

Oh come on be serious. Spurs, who are now actually playing really well selling one of their best players to their cross-city rivals? No
