EA Sports has released more details about their upcoming FIFA 18 game and some of these will make you wish you could get the game right now!
- The Journey
In FIFA 17, the brand new Journey game mode quickly became a fan favorite and within days after its release, people were already begging for another season. Once again, the Journey will be a part of FIFA 18! This year will still be about Alex Hunter and his rise to stardom. Hunter will meet the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Kevin de Bruyne, and cover star, Cristiano Ronaldo. EA Sports released a statement on the new Journey saying, “From a summer break in Brazil to a pre-season tour to Los Angeles, experience diverse football landscapes in a truly global journey.” The Journey 2 will be available on XBOX One, Playstation 4, and PC, however it will be absent from XBOX 360, Playstation 3, and the new Nintendo Switch.
- New Dribbling Mechanics
EA Sports is overhauling the dribbling from past FIFA games and is introducing new mechanics to give the best players more creativity on the ball in 1v1 situations. Players will be able to take better touches, make tighter turns, and being able to quickly sprint into open space. This dribbling update will be more responsive to the user than that of FIFA 17. The idea is that players who are good at dribbling in FIFA already will have faster movements than the less advanced players. In FIFA 18, no-touch dribbling will also have a greater impact due to its lack of use on last year’s edition of FIFA.
- Immersive Atmospheres
These new atmosphere updates in FIFA 18 include Authentic sun positions, cinematic atmosphere grading, signature pitch-side fixtures, on-pitch debris, club and stadium specific banners, adaptive commentary, and changes in pitch quality as the game goes on. New authentic chants will be added along with high-def dynamic crowds.
- Team Styles
Until now, FIFA players have had to cope with a lack of strategy and play style, however new world famous tactics will be included in FIFA 18. From tiki-taka to high pressing, this addition will add a never before seen aspect to the FIFA franchise. Players will also experience their team having a greater view of the game and making essential runs with New Player Positioning.
- Real Player Motion Technology
Last year, FIFA impressed us all with the famous Frostbite engine, and this year they are taking it a step further with Real Player Motion Technology. This feature is an all-new animation system that gives the players on the pitch a higher level of responsiveness and personality. According to the workers at EA, top players such as cover star Ronaldo will feel and move just like they do in real life.
- Celebrations
Last, but not least, FIFA 18 will feature new celebrations such as:
– Ronaldo – The Thinker
– Vardy – Mannequin challenge
– Dybala – Dybala Mask
– Matuidi – El Charo
– Griezmann – Stirring the Pot
… However we all know people will continue to shh and dab after every goal!
